Battleship IOWA Museum Hosts Annual Remembrance of Military
Battleship IOWA Museum is proud to honor those who served with a special remembrance pierside on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. This free community event is made possible with support from Supervisor Janice Hahn (Fourth District), Council member Joe Buscaino (District 15), and the Port of Los Angeles. Invited City of Los Angeles dignitaries, veterans, active military and Battleship IOWA Museum VIPs will be onboard to speak about the national day of remembrance as well as honor visiting military. To begin the Memorial Day Remembrance, a moving commemoration ceremony will start at approximately 10 a.m. featuring invited local elected officials and Battleship IOWA Museum staff. Guests who come aboard will have the opportunity to donate $5 for a flag to hang along the pier fence, allowing the red, white, and blue banner to wave in honor of those who have fallen. Following the Remembrance Ceremony, Battleship IOWA Museum will offer a full schedule of activities and entertainment for the entire family. Free Pierside Memorial Day events include a patriotic dance performance by San Pedro City Ballet, arts and crafts activities in the Kids’ Zone, live music with patriotic songs by local rock band U.S. 99, military vehicles on display, and much more. Guests will be able to purchase food from visiting food trucks and beer tastings from San Pedro Brewing Co. AM 870 The Answer will also be onboard broadcasting throughout the day.

Fees/Admission
All active, retired and reserve military will receive complimentary admission to tour the Battleship IOWA Museum. The pierside festival activities are free. Self-guided tours and ship admission tickets will be available for purchase. General Admission ship tickets for adults (ages 12-61) start at $17.95, seniors (ages 62+) start at $14.95, with children (ages 3-11) $9.95, children ages 2 and under do not require an admission ticket.
