DESCRIPTION:Friends of Banning Museum invites the community to join us for our next "Keeping History Alive" lecture at the Banning Museum\, located at 401 East "M" Street\, Wilmington\, CA 90744. The lecture presented by author Michael D. White\, vocational maritime historian and researcher\, will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the historic stagecoach barn on Saturday\, June 22\, 2019.\n\n\n\nMr. White will be sharing the story of how in 1863 a group of California secessionists conspire to outfit a small schooner as a privateer\, steal gold and silver shipments bound for the Union\, and revitalize the increasingly cash-starved Confederacy. This lecture will tell the true story of how their plot was hatched\, discovered and thwarted. There will be a question and answer session after the lecture.\n\n\n\nAdmission to the event is FREE for Friends of Banning Museum members and children under 12. Non-members are $5.00.
